One size does not fit all. Before suggesting an approach, we will work with you to understand the challenge, stakeholder needs, and business specifics of your brand. Each proposal is carefully tailored to the partner and their situation.
Our design process will always consider the following, fundamental steps:
Research and Discovery
Within our toolkit, we have many qualitative discovery techniques at our disposal, most of which are grounded in ethnography—enabling us to uncover human-centred insights specific to the challenge and target demographic. We then unpack and translate these insights into a clear strategic vision, which acts as a foundation for the project, allowing targeted, practical, and relevant ideation.

Conceptualise
With a strategic foundation in place, the next leg of the journey is to conceptualise meaningful ideas—each with a carefully considered narrative—that bestow the idea with reason and relevance. Skills utilised depend upon the project, but typically include; ideation workshops, concept generation, form studies, simple visualisation, and initial prototypes.

Design Refinement
Next, we will iterate, refine and detail our work—incrementally increasing fidelity as we progress through the phase. Methods of refinement come in all shapes and sizes but typically include; design development, initial engineering, high-quality visualisation, colour, material and finish (CMF) development, functional mock-ups, appearance models and component sourcing. Carefully curating tasks allows us to create a holistic solution that concentrates on pragmatic considerations, such as implementation or manufacturability.

Delivery and Handover
We deeply understand what it takes to turn a concept into reality—over the course of a decade, we have built relationships with some of the world’s leading contract manufacturers—enabling us to achieve the highest possible standards. During this leg of the process, steps may include manufacturing specifications, Design for Manufacture (DfM), Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. We can also assist our partners in achieving market exposure or funding. Accurate appearance models, photorealistic visualisation (CGI), fundraising documentation and press events—are all services we offer to help propel our partners towards launch.
